Aura Steel is produced by a gas atomized powder metallurgy process that makes it possible to combine high material hardness with wear resistance.

Before Aura Steel is forged a single-use canister is filled with atomized particles of iron, carbon, chromium, molybdenum, niobium, and vanadium. The particles are then fused together with heat and pressurized argon gas in a process called Hot isostatic pressing.

Vanadium, chromium and niobium bond with carbon atoms to form strong carbides . These carbides are designed to increase cutting performance, without compromising on smoothness. The carbides in Aura Steel are very small, about half the size of a red blood cell. Aura knives are free from even the tiniest imperfections.

Edge retention and attainable sharpness are unmatched. Most chefs sharpen their Aura knives every 6-12 months if used daily.
